Portfolio - Educational Stuff
I had the opportunity to work with several Massachusetts school systems within the Mass CAP (Community Access Program). I designed four sets of dolls used with pre-K and Kindergartners, helping children learn how to be safe and aware of people they did not know.
Each set has 5 dolls; a male 'stranger', a grandmother,
a mother, a girl and a boy. These dolls were ethnically mixed, so there is no obvious family group. The dolls are jointed and are designed with a handle at the back of the neck, attached to the inner structure of the doll, so the teacher who leads the program does not have to obviously hold the doll. The dolls range in height of about 28 inches, have hand painted faces and hair sewn in place.
